Modern Religious Experience: Reflection Question #1: "According to Mircea Eliade religion has 'not vanished without a trace; [it] has contributed toward making us what we are today and so, after..."
From Siri:
I am personnally athiest. My mother and father both had relgious backgrounds but chose not to believe in it in their adult lives. So I was raised with no bias toward religion, I understand it, but choose not to believe it. However religion does affect me in a certain way.
Religion as an affect on the law for an example. The taboos of our society indicates that, for an example, killing someone is bad and so on. Religion tells us our morals, which influence teh law. And I obey the law, so it affects me like that. My Grandmother from my mother's side is very religious, she reads the bible everyday. She is my role model, so her morals are my morals as well. And since her morals were influenced by her faith, I am affected in that way also. It just proves that even if you are atheist, secular, or agnostic, religion does affect people if not indirectly.
