Jesus in the movie "Nativity Story", in the Christmas Carol "We Three Kings", and in Philippians 2: 1-7 is described to be in general the human embodiment of God. The scriptures say that he is God's form as a human, there to give love and understanding to the human race. The songs generally say that he is an embodiment of God and that God has a deep connection to Jesus. Stories generally say that he is the son of God, that God came to the virgin Mary and impregnated her, throughout the whole time of her pregnancy she was still a virgin.
In the Christmas carol "We Three Kings" it discusses when three kings went to visit the new King of Bethlehem and the gifts they brought. A stanza in the carol is "Glorious now behold Him arise
King and God and Sacrifice; Alleluia, Alleluia; Earth to heav'n replies" This stanza talks about Jesus being a King, being a God, and being a sacrifice for his people. This emphasizes the importance of his birth, how much he means to his people.

The importance of Mary is the fact that she gave birth to Jesus. She was believed to be the mother of God, and was immortalized as the "Virgin Mother". Joseph, Mary's husband, was significant in the fact that he helped raised Jesus and that he helped Mary through her pregnancy even though other people thought she committed adultery. The shepherds in the story were the first people to bow down to Jesus and acknowledge him as either God or the son of God. Thus showing how important Jesus was even at birth. The three Persians, also known as the Three Kings gave Jesus gifts of Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. This eventually showed what Jesus would become and how his life would turn out. The gold is precious at the time, and it is also what Kings have, showing how Jesus was the new King of Bethlehem. The Frankincense was an important type of incense in that time and can be used in temples of worship. This showed how Jesus was an important religious figure. The Myrrh is a type of medicine that is associated with death. This would show the sacrifice of Jesus.
The reason that people believe that God came to Earth as a baby is because that is easier to relate to as a human. If God came to Earth as a divine being, people would not believe that he understands their problems. If Jesus's story was true, then this was the best way for God to relate to his people so that his people understand that he understands their worries, and that he is their to help. It is easier to go to a fellow human with a problem then with God.
